Creep
an excerpt
I shifted in my seat- I've always found airplane chairs extremely uncomfortable, and after riding in one for hours on end this fact was prominent in my mind. Cynthia had taken the seat next to the window while I took the isle. Luckily it wasn't a full flight, so the seat in between us had remained empty. Currently, my sister was using it as a place to rest her head. She'd been sleeping from practically the beginning of the flight, tired from crying she'd said. I wouldn't know, and consequently I was wide awake.
I'd exhausted the music on my mp3 player. I'd exhausted my want to read the predictable novel I'd purchased at the last minute in the airport's duty free shop. I had no interest in what no doubt awful movie was playing on the screen on the back of the seat in front of me. Instead, I simply sat and wallowed in the nervous feeling churning in my stomach. My life was about to change in a million different ways.
