Excerpt: Like a Funky Piano

I’ve always been a sucker for a man that had any musical abilities. Whether he could croon like Luther, blow like Najee or hit the keys like John Legend, I was drawn to them like a moth to a flame. Did I just use that over used cliché? I guess I did. Can’t take it back since it’s already in the universe. Anyway, my love for music is what got me in the situation I’m in now: sitting in the interrogation room of the county jail.
