Brief Author Bio: I am a librarian so I have a billion plots jumbling around in my head and it gets a bit discouraging because every time I think I have an original, I suddenly realize that it's actually straight out of that one book that Mrs. Wright returned three days late last week with the crinkly pages from where she dropped it in the bathtub and won't admit it. Or something like that. I got my MLS (Master's of Library Science) from the University of Illinois a couple of years ago, but what I wish I had done was something with literature and creative writing! My B.A. was in history and I still prefer to write stories that have at least some basis in historical fact. |

Synopsis: In Her Aspect
In the third installation of the "War Games" series, Eva Black, dark heroine of the British aristocracy, battles rumors about her shadowy past and her origins, which remain a mystery even to herself. To escape the increasingly heavy clouds of suspicion, she takes on a mission in France that seems cursed from the start. The Germans march unstoppably on Paris, and as Eva's window to escape across the Channel becomes increasingly smaller and more dangerous, she races to carry out the task of delivering a cipher machine into future French Resistance hands. Risking life sorting friend from foe in the treacherous, seedy underlayers of Paris on the eve of occupation, Eva encounters a doppelganger only she seems to see and a beautiful pair of thieving twin children. Skating on the edge of insanity and grappling with a secret she never knew existed, she fights to keep the consequences of her actions from casting a doubtful shadow over her once-legendary skills; everything depends on the judgment of her superiors who stand all too ready to hand her mission over to agents she once called "friends."
