Undecided
an excerpt
I am probably the most indecisive person you will ever meet. It takes me months to decide on something as easy as a hair cut (and I’ve had the same hair style- one length – since I was in middle school), even though I know it will grow back. Getting a dog is something that I probably would never have done if there hadn’t been one, literally, on my door step.
I’d had Sam for a week before I decided to bring her to the store for the day. The bonus in running (or rather trying to run) your own business is that you can do whatever you damned well please – the one to pay the price, ultimately, is you.
What I hadn’t thought about is the fact that Amy sometimes brought her pug, Chainsaw, to work with her. I would have asked about the dogs name if it weren’t for the fact that the dog had a way of disappearing and sending everyone looking for him. This little dog was a piece of work.
No sooner had I walked into the store with Sam, then Chainsaw came out of nowhere, determined in his superiority, despite the fact that I’ve seen sex toys bigger then he is.
Both Amy and I jumped to attention and did our best to separate the two dogs, but we found that it wasn’t necessary. Apparently, like the sex-toys, Chainsaw was fully to attention. The good news is that Sam was showing no interest in Chainsaw at all. Which is good, because a half freckled Australian-Shepherd mix dog and a pug’s puppies would probably be comical, at least they were in my head.
Note to self: Schedule an appointment at the vet to make sure that we don’t have any little Sam’s running about if she’s not already fixed. It also wouldn’t hurt to check into doggy prozac since the dog spent the better part of the morning under my night stand in an effort to avoid the ceiling fan.
