Brief Author Bio:

I started this in 2007 as a sort of dare/spur of the moment insanity thing and dragged my daughter along for the ride (through the ywp, with a goal of 5000 words). she was mad at me for most of the month, but we both won (woohoo, go us, woohoo, go us...) and this year she's eager to do it again with a more ambitious word count - 16000. my hope is to reach the goal in a healthier fashion than last year - sure I hit 50k just past the halfway mark in 2007, but I also missed a lot of nights of sleep. this year it's all about staying human and not turning into a literary vampire. it's also about remembering that even though I CAN go several days without sleep, it doesn't follow that I SHOULD.

what do I do when I'm not writing, you ask? well, I write, but mostly for school, with a little poetry on the side. I'm a student (hence the writing of school papers) and this semester I'm a tutor in the writing center on campus. I'm also in training to be a peer counselor/case manager/whatever I can get in the mental health field. then, with whatever time I have left, I'm a mom and wife. I also hang out with pirates. (seriously, I do, and they're fabulous)
