Brief Author Bio:

I've been a writer since I was a child when my mom would suggest to me, "go write a story" when I said I needed something to do. I have a degree in English and was in the undergradauate Iowa Writer's Workshop in 1976 and 1977. I have worked on two newspapers, been an account executitive at a PR agency, the director of Marketing Communications at Mayo Clinic and am currently the director of Communications for Development at Mayo Clinic, providing leadership to seven writers/communications consultants. I have a novel in progress. This summer I attended a week long workshop at University of Iowa's Writing Festival -- a class led by B.K. Loren, which was fantastic. I have been spending more time reading books about writing and reading novels than working on my own writing. I spend so many hours at work than when I get home I lack the energy and enthusaism to write, though I want to.
