Farewell, My Senior
an excerpt

“I take it you heard about Sandra,” I start.
“Yeah. Sad, man. What about it?”
“She was hidden in my locker.”
“No shit? I read a rumor like that, but I figured, like most of the other rumors about the infamous Richard Wilder, that they were fake.”
“Nope, they finally found one.”
“Well, did you do it?”
“Juan, we’ve been friends since we crawled out of our mother’s vaginas. What do you think?”
“True, if you did go homicidal, you would have killed someone you hated, not someone you barely knew. Am I right?”
“Yeah, yeah,” I say, and change the subject. “I will need your help with this.”
“Let me guess—you are going to ‘solve the case’ yourself?”
“Hell yeah.”
“Why?”
“Someone wants to frame me, Juan. Someone took the time to track my locker, decipher my locker combination, and risked going to a place with lots of cameras and security to dump a body in it. I want to find out who and…politely ask why.”
