Synopsis: A Hunter's Promise

Cathal wanted one thing, to find a mate. But the hunter's search has proven to be unfruitful. At least, until he gets to the royal city, where he meets Alastar, a sweet very young life bearer that has captured his attention. The only problem is, Alastar's parents want nothing to do with the hunter line.

Cathal made a promise, to come back in two years to claim his mate, to keep the hunters line from dying out. The only problem is, he's unable to keep his promise because of the death of his bearer, the murder of his giver and the grief that came with it.

Now back, to claim his mate, Cathal finds that someone else has laid claim on Alastar, to find his promised mate is terrified of him and that all he can see is a very bleek future.

Excerpt: A Hunter's Promise

Cathal wanted nothing more then to go back and beat the man to a bloody mess. But stepping outside he took a deep breath to calm himself. Taking another deep breath his eyes snapped open, he could smell something. Moving slightly, Cathal took another breath his heart rate raising as he caught the scent again. It was like the forest by the sea, it smelled of warm salt water and fertile soil.
Scanning the garden, Cathal made his way towards the scent. Catching sight of a person, Cathal paused to watch the boy. He was young, slivery white hair and small, that was all the hunter could tell from where he was standing. Taking another deep breath, he made sure he had the right person. With a feral grin, he took off at run to bring the boy to the ground.
A yelp escaped the body under him, Cathal held tightly keeping the boy from struggling. His could see pale skin, leaning he breathed the boy’s scent, only finding a bit of fear mixed in. Cathal felt his body tighten, could feel himself become hard as the boy under him gave a small wiggle. He waited, posed with his fangs close to the pale slender neck. When he felt the body under him completely relax he brought his mouth to the tender spot where neck met should and bit down.
Cathal ignored the cry that escaped the boy; he pulled up wrapping his arm around his mate-to-be waist to pull the slender boy against his chest. He licked at the blood that was dripping from the wound he made, a smile coming to his lips as he felt the boy relax against him.
“What the hell! Get away from my son!” a life-bearer hissed at him. Cathal looked up, his eyes half-mast as he continued to lick the blood.
“What is going on Shula?” another came into the garden, the life-bearer’s eyes widening at the scene. “Oh Dia, I heard there was a hunter here.”
“Let my son go! Alastar come here,” Shula yelled.
“Cathal?” Dáire came out, his eyes taking in the scene, a smile coming to his face. “You’ve found your mate.”
“What! He’s not going to mate Alastar!” Shula hissed moving towards the two on the ground. Cathal let out a growl, his arms tightening around the boy.
“Mine!” Cathal shifted Alastar, his eyes meeting slivery grey. A smile found his face as he reached up to touch the boy’s pale cheek. Tilting his head, he gently touched his lips to the life-bearer. Pulling back, he smiled at his soon-to-be. “I am Cathal.”
“I am Alastar,” the boy’s voice was musical. Cathal looked up at his bearer; he couldn’t keep the smile from his face as he held his chosen one.
