The Call of Hundred Wolves
an excerpt
From end of Chapter 1:
“Do you want to come inside then?” I asked and moved aside to let him in, he went down on four paws again and went inside. He looked around and sniffed the air, he looked cute while he did, then he just lay down and fell asleep or it looked like he was sleeping. I sat down beside him and a few minutes later I was sleeping with my head resting on his chest.
From somewhere in the middle of Chapter 2:
“Maybe at 2 pm, I’ll have to go at 6 pm”
“That’ll be fine, when we meet I’d like to know who you are going to meet. Is it a boy?”
“Yes, granny”
“Ooh, how in hell did you meet? Or you’ll tell that later, right?”
“Yes, of course I will”
“Bye then and I’ll meet you tomorrow”
“Goodbye” We hung up and then I checked the watch, damn it was 12pm, I’ll have to go to sleep or I’ll be a zombie tomorrow. I am not a night owl like others, probably Jason included. I like granny, because she’s not like others, she swear and she know that I don’t like talking much on the phone. I walked to my bed, damn, I forgot about my leg, how am I supposed to walk trough the forest. I’ll think about that tomorrow, I’ll call granny and tell her I hurt my leg on some rock, I’ll Find Jason’s number on the internet. Damn I don’t know his last name, maybe I could ask granny to walk there for me and tell him that I am sick and can’t come. Then went to bed satisfied with my excuse and slept deeper than a corps, no one could have woken me up, until I wake myself up.
From somewhere in the middle of Chapter 3:
“I gave you the money to buy that forest, I was hoping that we leopards could move in later, but now the wolf’s taken our place. You’ll have to go back and throw them out of there”
“But, I kind of like the howls in the night”
“You’ll be as happy with growls” she said and took some raw meat out of the fridge. I looked at it like I haven’t got food in weeks, a wave of hunger washed over me.
“Hungry?” granny asked. I nodded and stood up and begun to walk against the meat.
“Stop” she said and I did “Jessica sit” I did that too, but just because I wanted the meat. She shook her head and throw a bit of raw meat at me, I caught it like a good dog, and then threw another one and I did the same. We continued like that until all the meat was eaten and then she put the bowl on the floor and I ran to it and licked it, it was very embarrassing. Granny shook her head again and sat down on the chair that was in front of the one I sat on before.
