Otherworldly Lane

Sunlight filtered in through a curtain less, cloudy window pane. It was so caked with dirt that it seemed to bathe the room in perpetual twilight, casting that sickly light on the room in all its’ destructive glory. There were bottles littered all over the thin, sickly melon colored carpeting layered with years of stains from pizza to red wine. All those years of stains had attained a rather queer scent as well. It wasn’t that it was an unclean smell that made someone breathe through their mouth and make excuses to leave… instead it was a smell that faded the longer you were there, but then when you returned home, you found your clothes had the odor seemingly infused into the fibers of the fabric and nothing but a double trip through the wash and a hefty use of Febreeze would return the garment to only having your personal perfume once again.
