That’s really the only facts that I can give you. It's not like any of us were bad kids, it's not like any of us ever wanted it to end the way that it did. But there is no rewind button, and like is not a cassette tape. Once you press stop, you can never press start again.
Excerpt: Erin and The Lake
His skin was pale and his eyes were sunken in and watery and full of pain.
“Where’s your brother?” He said with breathless urgency, hands digging into the frame until his knuckles turned white.
“In his room.”
“Get him!” He snapped “I need him, get him fast!”
I ran down the hall and jiggled the doorknob. It was locked.
“Nate!” I shouted, pounding on the door “Nate, Come out! Kent needs you!”
There was a grumbled, pissed off response as he opened the door and walked out.
“What the hell do you want?” he snapped when he saw kent, but his face changed. He smiled.
“You got money/”
Kent shook his head as blood dribbled from his lips to his neck from biting them so hard.
“Then I really can’t help you.” He turned around, but hesitated.
“Please!” Kent’s voice was raw with agony “I really need it, please!”
“If you don’t got any money, I cant help you.”
He made a gurgling noise as he tried to speak “God damnit!” he finally shouted “What do you want? Whatever you want, you can have it!” his hands became fists “I just need my fix!”
Nate grinned wider.
“If I give you your needle, could you do a little favor for me?”
“Sure!” his breath was choppy “Sure, anything.”
“See if you can get that kid down there to tell you something.”
