Brief Author Bio: i'm a recent college graduate. i've heard about nanowrimo for a few years but this is my first try. right now i dont have a job but it's lucky i have all this extra time to write i guess. i came up with a story idea a few months ago and hadn't thought of anything better since then so i'm going for it. |

Synopsis:
well, in one sentence: two strangers end up on a tropical island together and must find ways to survive, getting to know eachother in the process.
also, the story trades narrators in each chapter. the woman, the man, or an omnipotent third-person. i thought this would add some interest and i'd get to use the different people's points of view.
I'll be visiting my family for the last week of the month ( and thanksgiving is my birthday). so i don't know how much writing i'll get done then. it's my first year doing nano and at 25k words, my story is by far the longest one i've ever written. so i don't mind if i don't make it to the 50k goal, but who knows, maybe i will.
Excerpt:
Karen, realizing that the old man was getting left behind, started yelling something, but out pistol guard quickly frightened her out of that idea. Being on the floor, I could see which way we were headed, but I supposed they would go back to San rosa. But the trip seemed too long. When the motor finally slowed to a stop they were pulled up onto a bench. Holding his machete in his left hand, our roper roughly search karen’s pockets and cut the strap to her small woven purse. My backpack was still in its place on my shoulders and it wouldn’t be easy to get it off with my hands tied together. Receiving his instructions, somebody behind me unzipped the top. I felt his hands rummaging through my belongings. They found my money clip and took the bills, angrily jerking the zipper closed. Obviously this wasn’t what they were hoping for. It looked like Karen wasn’t carrying too much more money than me, and her simple glass bead jewelry wasn’t worth taking. I noticed that we weren’t too far off from a shore, but there was no San Rosa village. In fact the land just seemed to end like it went around a corner.
