Synopsis: Black Magic ROUNDABOUT

On his first day of his long awaited summer trip to Italy, James Bryant found himself lacking heart. Literally, it was blown out of his chest by accident by a trigger happy woman with a huge, magical device she referred to as her broomstick.
Upon waking up, however, he found himself in another reality, where a certain trigger happy woman reveals herself to be a Witch and makes the following declaration:

"I'm here for something as simple as revenge. And seeing as we're linked, you're going to help me."

What follows is a tale of love, loss, assassins, shotgun broomsticks, Summer Glau, and family secrets.

Excerpt: Black Magic ROUNDABOUT

I recognize the woman in a split second.
The woman who was in my dream. The woman who was wearing the same business suit she's wearing now, with the same glasses and bun / twin ponytail hair do. The same woman with those blue white eyes and the same woman who shot me in the chest with some sort of terrible, pain inflicting device!
Only...only she's sitting in front of me. Right now. After giving me an Indian burn. Inflicting pain in what should have been a dream most certainly didn't feel like one in the least bit.
Oh god. Oh god, my killer is sitting right in front of me. That wasn't a dream at all, was it?

“You shot me!”
“Yeah,” She rocks her head a bit. “Yeah I did. So? You're alive, aren't you?”
“You shot me,” I shout again, jabbing my finger accusingly. “In the chest! Through the heart! You shot me!”
“Hey, no need for finger pointing. It was your fault.”
“You! Shot! Me! I don't even know you! How is you shooting me my fault?”
“You snuck up on me. I thought you were someone else, so I reacted accordingly. My bad.”

M-My bad?!
This woman blew my heart right out of my chest and all she can say is “My bad?” How about an apology? An apology and a statement saying you'll pay out a cash settlement to me for the damages you inflicted on my body! Like this huge gaping hole in my chest—
“Hold on. You shot me.”
“Yes. You've said that a few times now,” She replies. “I get it. You're mad.”
“No, it's,” I tap my chest with my fingers. There's not a hole there. Not an entrance or an exit wound of any sort. “There's nothing here. Why isn't there a hole in my chest?”
“Would you prefer one?”
“Well no,” I reply quickly. “But that does cause a huge issue in the me having my heart blown out of my chest issue.”

This woman sits up in her seat, crossing her legs and intertwining her fingers. That's a sign I'm fully aware of – a long winded speech is about to come my way, I just know it.
“You don't have a hole in your chest,” She explains. “Because a wizard did it.”

That's not what I expected. In fact, that's not an answer at all. That doesn't even pretend to be an answer, it's a cop out!
“A wizard did it?”
“A wizard did it.”
“Seriously?”
“For serious.”
“That doesn't answer any questions. At all!”
