Synopsis:
I'm renovating a concept I had in middle school, a love story set in on the American frontier. The main character returns to her hometown after her father dies to care for her younger sister and run the family store. Of course she's going to fall in love with a childhood friend. I wouldn't be a very romantic person if she didn't.
Excerpt:
Lucas looked at Anne, finished with his story.
“That’s it?”
“What else were you expecting?”
“Okay, so let me make sure I’ve got this straight. You were at the bar. So was Mr. Peyton. He made some comments offending my virtue, and so you fought…”
“Yes.”
“Did you win?”
Lucas grinned. “What do you think?”
“Well, if you were defending my virtue, I would hope you did.”
