Excerpt: In the Moonlight
The pain finally left Oliver's body, he lay sweat drenched and bleeding on the cold wooden floor. He was shivering violently, he heard vaguely the sound of whimpering from his own lips. He got to his feet slowly, stumbled around for a few seconds before he managed to throw himself onto the bed. With unsteady hands, he struggled to wrench the blanket over himself.
He relaxed his body, finally allowing his breathing to slow. He drifted off to sleep, completely exhausted, his dreamed full of painful tranformations and a blur attacking him. He screamed out clutching his arm.
"Olly!" Cecilia shook him hard.
Oliver sat bolt upright in his bed. He looked down at his arm, the wounds from his wolf form's desperation for flesh were already wrapped and dressed. Pain shot through it as he clutched that arm tightly. He stared at it for so long, his grip unrelenting, until Cecilia pried his fingers off. The pain eased into a dull throbbing, Oliver relaxed visibly.
Cecilia summoned a towel and started wiping the sweat from his face. She kissed his cheek lightly.
"Everything's going to be okay, Olly," she stroked his hair slowly, soothing him.
She took him in her arms. He leaned against his shoulder, shivering and crying. She hugged him tightly, rocking slowly back and forth.
