Brief Author Bio:

I'm a Californian, living in Beijing with my husband and two kids (both of whom are also Nano-ing this year). I speak some Chinese, though the Beijing accent throws me off a little. Back in the states I was learning aikido and foraging for wild edibles and medicinals while working part time as a bike mechanic. Previously I'd been a full time secretary - uninspiring to say the least, but at least the pay was adequate and the boring moments could be filled with my own thoughts. I've not written in a long time. I used to write poetry and creative non-fiction (personal essay type) and had a few published articles and essays, but when my kids were young it became a lot more difficult to maintain a thought in my head. Now, they're older and thankfully they're as excited about writing as me!

Random thoughts:
I just spent the day making steamed buns.
I love elderberries.
Someday I'll knit something more than a rectangle.
