Synopsis: Out of the Sea
The dawn of the twentieth century approaches in "Out of the Sea," which takes place in Mystic, CT. A deep recession is settling in that will make Catherine Johnson's choices all the more difficult, especially when her family dynamic is drastically altered.
Excerpt: Out of the Sea
"You made a poor decision." The sounds of mallets and saws hitting nails and cutting lumber drifted up river from the shipyard nearby. "Had you been honest and forthcoming, I might have agreed. Now...I fear there is little hope for trust between us." She extended her open hand. "The Captain's letter. Give it back to me."
