Synopsis: The Healers

In the year 2165 man walks on the surface of a planet of Alpha Proxima. By the year 2175 interstellar travel is the fastest booming industry around. Science ships travel to inspect planets, mining ships exploit asteroid belts, and support staff for Earth's interstellar fleet is the fastest job market in the world.

Ever since the Alpha Proxima landing, Jason Aldives has wanted one thing, and one thing only: to be a medical officer on one of the ships exploring the far reaches of space. When he gets his first assignment aboard the miner UES Valkyrie he thinks he's had it made.

Until the Valkyrie discovers that we are not alone, and Sharreans are just as trigger happy as Earthlings. Jason manages to survive, unlike almost everyone else on the Valkyrie, and after he recovers from the wreck of the Valkyrie, he is assigned to the UES Harphin, a science vessel investigating a potentially inhabitable binary star system.

But it turns out that there is more in the universe than Sharreans and Earthlings.
