Synopsis:
An author finds himself transported into the world of his own novels and must overcome his own hackneyed plot devices, mindless villains and perilous areas both of tedious over-description and vague shortcuts to find a way out. Will he fall prey to his own mediocrity or escape with a new understanding of the god-like powers of a writer?
Excerpt:
I suppose this was all my fault -- Not whatever it was that had brought me here, but here was most definitely my fault. I could really have used a deserted farm house or a barn or something to hide out in, but that was not in the cards. And again, I had no one to blame but myself.
I had only been 'here' for, oh, probably less than a day -- It's hard to tell, to be honest, and I'd been on the run the whole time so far. This was the first time I'd been able to gather my thoughts and reflect, as I waled along. I was staying out of sight of the road even though I knew there was really no chance I'd be seen by anyone, even if I'd gone down and walked down the middle of the road flapping my arms and singing at the top of my lungs.
