Synopsis: Silversiders
Patience... I will have a better synopsis later.
What are Silversiders? You don't think I'm going to tell you that, do you? But I can tell you a few things to give you an idea of what the book is about...
- Dess is a 17-year-old girl living in an alternate version of 1904 in which the world is about to end. She learns that she is the designated savior of Earth. By that point in time about 1/3 of the world's dry land is already submerged, so her first thought is that if that is true, the world is screwed.
- There is an ancient secret society that claims to know something about the Silverside. The crazy old man who tells Dess her destiny is one of the last members. She doesn't know whether to believe him, but he gives her a sword called Loyalty that only works for her and tells her to go West (sound advice considering she lives in coastal Maine), so she just decides to go with what she's given.
- The merpeople are pissed at humans for polluting their home, so they are now laughing their asses off as the world is flooding.
- In the year 2276, the end of the world was long ago. The Earth is now sparsely populated, frozen, and humanity has divided into multiple mutant races. In the city of Silverside, a girl named Asha belonging to the "Perfect" racial class learns that something is very wrong with the way her world is run.
- She has a seemingly useless power, so she generally hides it. This is key.
- There's something strange about her longtime friend Mok too, whose race is thought of as little better than animals.
- Dess, Asha, and Mok are very special... but they don't realize their connection yet.
- If an imaginary world became so incredibly detailed in the mind of it's creator, would it truly exist? And if so, could the characters and archetypes existing in it become self-aware? What effect would this have on that world and the surrounding worlds?
- What do spiders have to do with anything?
- And what are hoverseeds?
- Savior, Wisdom, Truth, Evil, Infinity, and Hope
- The world will end by fire and ice...
