Brief Author Bio:

Hello! I'm Claire L. Fishback, formerly Brouhard. I write dark literature. Something about exploring the human condition really gets me cranked up. I used to write a lot of gore, and sometimes I still do, but I've moved on to just dark, like demons and whatnot.

Synopsis: The Door

Logan Crumble inherits and old as dirt house from his deceased Great Great Great Grandfather in a town called Swampville. The house is located at the end of a long dirt road that leads into the middle of the swamp. Light is blocked by a canopy of willow trees and other swamp fauna. The house is so old, it has no electricity. Logan must use a flashlight to check out the house.

At the top of the third floor stairs, there is a door. Logan doesn't even go up the stairs for a sense of forboding has enveloped him. Instead he goes back to the first floor. A thumping sound issues from the ceiling. It is muffled just enough to tell him it is coming from the third floor, the stand up attic. The thumping moves across the ceiling, closer to where he knows that door stands.

What is up there? What is behind that door? Why can't Logan leave the house?

This dark story has the making of a nightmare gone horribly wrong.
