The water was like glass, broken only by the paddle of my kayak. The ripple moved out from me in circles, leaving me alone in the center. This somehow made me laugh, knowing that even the water wanted to be rid of me, just like everything else. It’s funny how in running away from loneliness you end up feeling even more alone.
