Synopsis: Blood Bonds: New World

Blood Bonds: New World follows the journey of two young men at the beginning of the 19th century, Alil Gaspar and John Nesbitt. They are from astoundingly different worlds: Alil, an aristocrat vampire just reaching 'vampire puberty' filled with urges and desires that his father, leader of the New World's Coven will not help him with, and John, the Scottish American lumberjack, a simple man who loves his mother but is terrified of one day of losing his health and youth.

They meet when Alil runs away from home after committing a heinous deed and the two of them find in each other friendship, trust, refuge, and more.

Second in a series, although the first book isn't written yet >_> my bad! I just really wanted to write this one first! I started writing this earlier this year and have about 10,000 words on it, so I'm hoping to add another 50,000! Alil and John are my most beloved original characters and I will keep writing for them if for no one else!

Excerpt: Blood Bonds: New World

Thirsty. So thirsty.

He writhed on top of the crumpled sheets clawing and grasping at his burning throat.

I must drink, I must stop the thirst.

His eyes shot open and in the darkness he could see every crack on the ceiling, hear and feel the vibrations of a tiny jumping spider that was making its home in the corner of the room. The sound of its spinning sounded like thunder and Alil cupped his hands over his ears with a moan.

Stop…stop…

The burning in his throat increased tenfold and he felt his heart start pounding in his chest far faster than it ever had before. It filled his ears, rushing, rushing, pounding, pounding. He gulped down mouthfuls of air, and clutched at the sides of his bed. His body was almost moving on its own now and he didn’t know what would happen if he let go.

No…

An intense burst of feeling started at the tips of his toes and slowly crept up his legs, rushing and bursting at the center of his chest. He screamed as his body shook as though victim to a violent earthquake and all at once bolted upright. The pounding of his heart seemed to make him undulate and his body began moving forward. He wasn’t sure if he was controlling himself now or not. With one bound across the room he was at the window and he yanked the drapes open, unhooked the latch and jumped. He was ten feet up, but he jumped and came down with a thud that he thought should’ve been louder.

His feet had made small indentations in the ground, and he started to ponder what had just happened when the pounding started again. Stronger, Faster. Without a second thought he took off running in the direction of the town.
