Brief Author Bio:

I got halfway through my NaNovel last year before hitting a wall, and I participated in Script Frenzy in April and wrote a script in 15 days. I've completed two short stories since then. I have a detailed outline for this year's NaNovel and I can hardly wait to write it.

Synopsis: Echo

It’s been four years since Simon had been sitting and eating a terrible dinner at church camp when he’d started to hear the thoughts of a girl he’s come to be far too familiar with far too soon. He’s been waiting nearly four years to get the chance to meet this Echo, and when he and his older siblings escape the small conservative Californian town and cross over into the faded and deflated town of Flint, Michigan, Simon gets more than he bargained for.

Excerpt: Echo

Echo's thoughts stopped for a moment, and then they were unrelenting, attacking Simon's mind. Something was very, very wrong. She was asking questions at someone, and after a few moments, Simon began to realize they were directed at him. He couldn't believe what he was hearing at first, and then she thought his name, and repeated his thoughts in her own mind, and then he forgot how to breathe.

"Pull over!" Jules yelled from the passenger seat. Tim looked in the rear view mirror at Simon, who was having a panic attack, and swerved off the road. Jules jumped out and slid open the door. Simon jumped out and ran a few paces before stopping to put his hands on his knees and catch his breath. The questions weren't stopping–things like "who are you?", "how do you know me?", and "what's going on?"–and they were overwhelming. His guard was completely down and he couldn't keep his thoughts from her even if he tried. It was as though they walked in on each other naked.
