Brief Author Bio: Aristocracy is the new and improved A.P., a novelist from mid-Ohio currently attending university and majoring in theatre. She has been writing since her youth, and is the acclaimed writer of five NaNovels and one short side-story, including Shattered Elegance (2004), Falling in Stygian (2005), An Imperfection in Diamond (2005 short story, 20k), Return to Academy (2006), 2007's The Price of a Head, and Hero's Play in 2008. Also completed were screenplays A Second Chance (2007) and The R.L.S. Pathfinder (2008), both written as Script Frenzy challenges. Don't miss this author's next forage into the land of noveling as she returns for 2009, ready to take on a new challenge with youngling Kaej, who will test the cut of her sails as she ventures forth into a new realm unlike any other. Aristocracy cites the works of authors Patricia C. Wrede and Eoin Colfer as her main inspirations, with renewed interest coming from Mary Hoffman, Garth Nix, and, most recently, Tamora Pierce. |

Synopsis: The R.L.S. Pathfinder
"And on the clearest of nights, you can see the door before you."
The journey one undertakes when they pass through the door of the moon has always had a grand air of mystery to it. Those who are given the chance often return changed in some way, whether for better or for worse, and those around them take heart from it--the gods are watching over them. Journeymen speak of impossible sights, of rich cultures and peoples, but most of all the daunting presence of the gods and the tasks they set before them.
"You have answered my call."
Journeymen are called in times of need, when the scales are misaligned--their acts pull the forces of the world back into balance, settling any unrest.
"I called for no hume--there is nothing for you here."
However, when youngling Kaejana of the Chalnossa finds herself making this mystical journey, there is nothing. The powers are balanced, the scales even--her passage was a mistake. Nothing more.
"No. I called her here."
But to be called to the gods' realms by the trickster god means that her journey will be nothing of those the ones before her took...
