Synopsis: Though These Eyes
Fiona has always been able to see ghosts, what she just didn't realize was that everyone else couldn't. Peter wasn't a typical best friend either, the only person who she could ever connect with - he just happened to be dead. Growing up she was always 'weird' both to her peers and her family; something that didn't change as the years went by.
However being fifteen turned everything upside down, suddenly things were no longer as simple. With both parents wanting a daughter that they don't really have, being at home becomes more stressed than ever before. And when a new kid arrives at school desperate to speak to his dead brother one last time, things seem to be growing out of control.
However things aren't quite as simple as Fiona thinks, secrets that she didn't even know existed are threatening to emerge and her fragile world is just about to shatter.
Excerpt: Though These Eyes
Fiona dashed home from school, her red hair streaming behind her and her bag flapping up and down on her back. She ignored all the stares that she was attracting from all those posh mothers that her town seemed to attract; honestly half of them thought that they were so much better than they actually were. But she wasn’t just running for the sake of it, it was because Peter had met her at the school gates for a change and they had decided to race back to her house. Of course he had an unfair advantage in that he didn’t have to run around people or objects if he didn’t want too, but then in a flat race he would always loose so maybe this way it was more interesting.
