Brief Author Bio: Transplanted from Cape Cod, back to her native Rhode Island, and with a new name, Meri returns to NaNoWriMo with a renewed zest for writing... or is that a new, masochistic sense of angst and pathos? Watch the body count rise as the war of words is waged, and watch the author fight inner demons, outergarments, and an intense caffeine-hangover headache. Stay tuned for more! |

Synopsis: Empty Hands
The daughters of the Queens of the Old Dominion were never able to take the easy path to adulthood. Now, with darkness closing in on all sides: the source of magic dying, the Queen murdered by her lover, and an army of beings with familiar faces and missing souls slowly pushing the Dominion Guard south, Merriandra Eldaronde is flung from a peaceful, pastoral existence into the midst of power-hungry nobles and crafty mages battling for control of the realm. When the Queen died, the Honordare, vested with all the knowledge of the realm, vanished. Merriandra must retrieve the amulet and return to the capitol before the Council of Elders issues judgement and passes rulership to another noble house. Will Merriandra's choices bring her a step closer to the throne or will they lead the Old Dominion into darkness?
