Synopsis: Only Human
When the world changed, it happened slowly. So slowly no-one noticed until it was too late. It started with disappearances. First it was on the tv screens, then it was on the street, then your own home. Then came the rioting. When the police lost control, they sent in the army. Then the army lost control. No-one remembers when the governments dissolved, all we know is when the tv stations stopped broadcasting. That was the day the sky turned. That was the day everything changed.
Excerpt: Only Human
“Vampires are real Vix, they are,” whispered Maria from behind me. I turned to face her. “If they weren’t real how would you explain the cows?”
“The cows?” I asked, wondering if she had known about the sups before her incarceration, or if it was just one of her odd ramblings.
“Yes, you know, all the cows that disappear. You didn’t think it was aliens did you? That’d be silly.”
“You’re absolutely right,” said Blue, struggling to suppress his amusement. “Whoever thought aliens exist musta been out of their tree.”
“Oh no, cows don’t live in trees,” said Maria, her gaze returning to the book in her lap.
