Synopsis: Knights, Squires, and Satire: Oh My!
Ian thought he was an ordinary boy, working on a farm until one day a mystical woman appeared and told him otherwise. He's now the Chosen One, a title that apparently brings great awe to all who hear him addressed as such. He's gone from poor, second class "citizen" to knight in training, and he has every intention of marrying Princess Isabel, the dainty damsel in distress of the town. After all, what King could dare deny him now that he's a dashing knight in shining armor?
Too bad no one thought to tell Ian it was all just a joke.

"Knights, Squires, and Satire, Oh My!" is a bold attempt of trying to write satirical fantasy for the first time. It'll be littered with dares from the NaNo forums, plot holes, and hopefully plenty of fun moments. There's also a 100% guarantee that there will be cliches, mayhem, and disaster waiting at every turn, especially due to the fact that the plot was thrown together just five minutes ago, as most stories by Kiana are.
In all honesty, Kiana's only writing it because she needed something to laugh at after a tough semester in school. She thinks this story will do the trick. Will she be right? Only time will tell...
Excerpt: Knights, Squires, and Satire: Oh My!
Ian lived in Fairy Tale, a world in which just about everything was possible. There were several hundred continents with many cities, many of which were governed by kings. There were many things that happened in Fairy Tale, many stories that got passed on from one place to another. Fairy Tale was a great place to live, provided you were born into the royalty or into the richer nobles. But if you were a peasant - a commoner - well, life was different.
Ian was one of these commoners. There was nothing extraordinary about him, aside from the birthmark of the chicken on his chest, right over his heart. He told no one of this though less they start to call him a chicken in jest. Yes, Ian McKnight went through life suffering as all commoners too because that's what he was supposed to do. But who would want to hear a tale about any commoner? There is only so many things that you would want to listen to. How many times can you hear about getting up to milk the cows or gather crops? Probably no more than I could. This is why things had to change.
