Excerpt: Martyr

I went on patrol again, right before dawn, like I usually do. The scene before my eyes sickens me; bodies laying on the ground, blood covering the grass, and even their muffled cries of pain makes me want to scream out my own agony. Everyone gets up eventually, but this mayhem must stop. There has to be an answer to why this is happening.

Ethica is at war. And I am going to have to bring this to a hault, or my mate and I will never see each other again. If only he were not on one side and I on the other...
