Synopsis: The Infected

The world is split:

Religion and Science. Urban and Rural. Belief and Fact. Racism. Segregation. The twenty-third century is dealing with the same issues of yesterday and today…just a little more extreme.

Grey Grayson is just one man among many trying to stick out life and stay out of trouble. But it’s not as easy as it sounds, particularly under the rule of THE LINK- a new government computer-based system of life and law. Trying to help a sick friend, in a world where medicine and reasearch for seemingly incurable diseases has been made illegal, takes Grey out of his depths and plunges him into the world he’s been taught to fear.

The 'Infected'- those condemned by the rule of THE LINK- live segregated from 'clean' people like Grey. But when it comes to the crunch, the need of their help far outweighs the discrimination installed by Grey’s people. Recruiting the enigmatic ‘Blonde’- an unnamed alcoholic woman with a bad attitude and nasty flare for impatience- seems his only pessimistic hope.

Following her lead into the wastelands and beyond (and paying the price for her aid), Grey encounters the old world and the people who dare to live within it. With the added company of tag-along infected bohemian Scarlett, and the help of former government-worker Cable, Grey works to get the medicine the only way he can…
