Brief Author Bio:

I started board game design at age 11 and have pretty much never stopped. I tried my hand at a few short stories in my early twenties, but the stuff was not publishable. I've carried out research into war and society (mainly early modern to present day), but my career has been in project management and information management, mainly in Higher Education in the UK.

I've been designing and publishing board games for a few years now with a small UK company called Surprised Stare Games Ltd, which includes my game designer buddy Tony Boydell and also my wife, Charlie, who does graphics for the games.

I have two daughters, Vic, who is an excellent graphic designer and artist, and Jen, who writes stories, novels, and so on, and has done NaNoWriMo before, so inspired me to do it. So it's her fault.
