Synopsis:
Parker and Lily are twins whose parents died when they were little. Now their adoptive parents are moving them from Boston to Tennessee and everything is changing. Lily is sure she will never be able to see them as a real family, but all that changes when she is seriously injured while playing soccer and the thing she has been missing most forms right in front of her eyes.
Excerpt:
Parker sighed and shifted her backpack to the other shoulder. "Where are they?" she asked, gazing around.
I shrugged, unconcerned.
"Really, Lily, I don't see them," she said, sounding panicked.
"I dunno. Maybe they left without us," I replied, grinning wickedly at her. She slapped my arm and I snickered.
Now, that might sound mean. But I'm not a mean person. Ask Parker. Okay, no, never mind, don't ask my sister, 'cause if this little scene was brought up, she would say I am mean. But she doesn't understand that I had been up half the night worrying about her, me, and our new house. Our new school. Our new everything. Plus, I really didn't want to move to Tennessee. No offense to you Tennesseans or anything. It just seemed so... southern. And I really liked-no, loved Boston.
