Synopsis: Pictures of Gloria Vaudeville

Joanie Swanson, night-shift nurse and almost mum to her teenage younger brother, Jude. Her life may not have been completely run of the mill, but it was far from abnormal. That's why she sure as hell didn't think that in the course of just one, supposedly ordinary week, it would become a jumbled mess of old files, dead ends and anonymous leads. Turned into an amateur version of Sherlock Holmes (or rather Watson), Joanie teams up with criminal investigators Bran and Rachelle to discover the events leading up to the supposed murder of her own grandfather, Russell, a cop who disappeared into thin air three decades ago. Eager to discover the story, they interview "Désirée" an amnesiac who has seen better days. What Joanie didn't expect? To hear the life story of this enigmatic woman. Spellbound, she becomes addicted to the enthralling tale of young adults, struggling to make it in 1970s Los Angeles. Will the mystery of her grandfather be solved in the midst of the storytelling? And what does “Désirée” have to do with it all?
