Excerpt: Icarus Ghost

The sun was just resting on the horizon when Dhakiya felt its presence. Climbing down from the tree she was perched in she noted the storm clouds that were gathering, she would only have an hour at the outside before it started to rain. Running through the trees to the other side of the village she stepped into a clearing large enough for a shuttle to land. Walking to the middle of the clearing she lay down and looking at he stars tried to guess where in that great expanse the ship had entered her sky. Dhakiya tried to lock the stars in her mind she needed to remember this night in a week’s time she would no longer be here.
