Brief Author Bio:

I was supposed to be an interfaith minister, but I got mad at the NYS Legislature one session, went in to yell at them, and they hired me. Been a policy wonk for a decade, now. Tried my hand at starting my own business - found I have a knack for it and actually like it, lots! Politics can feel slimy and is a daily reminder that the good guys don't always win, but running my own business is empowering and reminds me of the bootstrap pride of our founding fathers.

My policy background includes: education; higher education; biotechnology; environmental conservation; global warming; healthcare; women's issues; state budget analysis; etc.

I'm a successful mother of two (yes, I said it, successful! : ) and have led an unusually violent life my first 22 years, surviving attempted murder among other things. During that time I was a stripper for a month - and they'll never let me run for President because of it, although this country would be darn fortunate to have me. A full life, yes indeed, and I'd rather that than a blissful one. "The Secret" followers, take note: if I'd wanted a blissful life, I'd have stayed where I was instead of being born into this fabulous, messy, shocking, joyful, burn-me-clean existence.
