Favorite novels: Throughout the last year I have become addicted to the Otherworld series by Yasmine Galenorn. It's amazing. I'm also in the process of reading the Inheritance series. I know it's old, but it's length was quite frightening when I started.

Favorite writers: My favorite writers include Yasmine Galenorn, Stephenie Meyer, J.K. Rowling, Tamora Pierce, and Dean Koontz.

Favorite music: I don't like listening to music much when I novel. I find that it distracts me. Although, a few times last year when I was in my local Panera, it was too noisy to novel without it. I let the Wicked soundtrack play through a few times. It was very inspirational. The Panera, however, did not renew its lease, so I don't think I'll have that problem this year.

Non-noveling interests: Most of the time when I'm not at school, I'm at work. I work at a Bruegger's Bagels under the best manager anyone could ask for. Other than that, I'm usually on the MLIA website (it's awesome) or doing homework (it's not awesome). I try to find time to play some guitar and do some reading, but it's not nearly as often as I'd like. I've been waiting all year for Nano to start up again, and I am super- duper excited!

Brief Author Bio:

My name is Julie, and I am a writer. I year ago, I would not have said that. Last year, I only signed up four days before it started. I was hesitant, but I has an idea that was solid through the ending and I was able to get most of an outline written in that time. Nanowrimo 2008 was the most exhilarating, enlightening, and terrifying experience of my life. It made me reconsider the direction my life was taking and the path I wanted to follow when I got to college.
I am so excited for Nano this year. It's going to be a little harder to hit my word quota because I work so much on the weekends, but I'm going to use every spare moment.

Good luck to everyone!

Synopsis: Duality

Rylie Ann Koenig is a daughter of the system. At 17, her chances of being adopted are almost nothing. So when a mysterious, but attractive, boy comes into her life and demands that she is a faerie, Rylie has a hard time believing him. He offers her a chance to get out of the teen orphanage she’s been staying in, however, so she jumps on the offer. She begins her training in fighting arts and chooses to follow the path of fire. At this point, her double shadow should have become a single shadow, but she just chalks it up to the fact that she’s going to be a little different because she’s lives as human for so long. Together with Shawn, Rylie must train because she’s destined to destroy the Evil…. or maybe that’s just what they told her.
