Synopsis: Senseslip
The City State of Chicago is shot all to hell on the inside. Marilyn is trying to juggle her job in the city Militia, being an informant for the violent Inconsequentials, and her magnificent bastard of a stepfather who might, just maybe, be able to solve the problem of neuromagetics that's tearing the city-state apart.
She needs all the help she can get.
Excerpt: Senseslip
“No, no, not morning,” she said into the couch cushion. “No work. No work today.”
Marilyn remembered that there was an unpleasant thing scheduled today. Today was…not Wednesday. Today was Thursday. Today she had a meeting with Grant about getting demoted again. “Noooooooo,” Marilyn said, burrowing her face deeper into the couch. Her nose encountered something squishy and fuzzy, and Marilyn recoiled quickly, much more awake.
Toothbrush. A toothbrush was one of the things she needed.
