Favorite writers: Fyodor Dostoevsky, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Mikhail Bulgakov, Pavel Kohout, Isaac Asimov, many others here as well.

Favorite music: It's usually either not in English or doesn't have lyrics. That's not always true, though. I like Nightwish and Sonata Arctica and things like that, too.

Non-noveling interests: Eastern Europe, history, linguistics, archaeology, speculative fiction (science fiction/fantasy), canine genetics/dog training, hockey (...Red Wings), geology, and so on...
