Excerpt: Death in the Band Room

Luke was dragged outside and pinned to the wall.
“Look here Luke, yeah I know who you are and you should know who I am. I'm Romeo. I should tell you what you are getting yourself into. You are just Juliet’s play toy. Get that into your head. When she’s tired of you she will throw you out. Just. Like. That.” Romeo growled in Luke face pausing between each of the last fizz words.
“So what, she is hot man, and an excellent kisser. What if I'm just her play thing, she’s only my play thing as well.” Luke said defiantly in Romeo’s face.
“Well then get ready to be beaten down and hurt, ‘cause that is what you get when you hook up with her.” Romeo warned turning to head back inside.
“Hmm... she’s dangerous ehhh.... I'm fine with that, danger is a good thing, it will spice things up a bit.” Luke said standing there. Romeo swivelled around and walked up to Luke once more.
“Look here punk. I should tell you something you should know, Juliet... she used to be a nice girl till the world screwed her over. Don’t get close to her, or else.” Romeo said angrily to Luke
“Well if the world already has screwed her then why don’t I?” Luke said grinning.
“Dude, don’t get mixed up with her, she is no good.” Romeo said once more
“Hmm I should go and test that out for myself. She did say she wanted to show me.” Luke said still grinning.
“Seriously man, you should take my advice,” Romeo warned once more.
“Sure... and what makes you good enough to even tell me advice.” Luke questioned.
“Ok fine, you want to know.... I went out with her. I was her first boyfriend. Happy now, does that make me legible enough?” Romeo said annoyed and angry.
“Oh... well that changes it a bit. Are you sure you don’t still like her and maybe that’s why you want me to stop. Because you want her to yourself.” Luke said grinning again and leaning against the wall.
Romeo grabbed Luke collar “why you....” he started to say then let go. “I don’t like her so whatever, don’t take my advice for I care. I shouldn’t have even tried to warn you. It has nothing to do with me.” And he turned and left for real. Luke stood there grinning and pondering about what caused Romeo to react like that. Luke just might have hit the spot with his last comment.
