Synopsis: Man, Know Thyself
The date is January 20th, 2054. The streets of the world are filled with cars still running, some that have died. There are TV's still on. The ovens are on. There is so much energy wasted that its unfathomable how harmful this is to the ozone layer. The problem? No one is there to turn it off.
Except for a small group of "survivors" who are living off what they can and working beside what they consider a god. Doryphoros, as he calls himself, is a genetically enhanced human whom, upon shock therapy and massive doses of psychoactive drugs, has attained a higher degree of control over his mind, granting him psychokinetic abilities. The problem? He's a complete jerk. The arrogant, selfish, careless, and powerful Doryphoros now lives above the group, who worship him and ask him to see into the past and see what happened to the world. When the group runs out of food, they ask Doryphoros to accompany them to the city of Boise, Idaho, about three miles away from their living place. Doryphoros, pompous but incredibly intelligent and bright, begins to "tear apart" the myth of human supremacy, as the group slowly descends into madness over the loss of their world. But as time goes on, Doryphoros begins to realize how human he really is. Looking back upon the Ancient Hellenes (Greeks) whom he fanatically admires, Doryphoros takes the thoughts of Plato and Socrates and molds them to modern thought and modern daily acts in life. Even a superman can die. And Doryphoros, as his group begins to become barbaric and insane inside the cold, dead city that seems eerily alive, begins to realize how vulnerable and human he really is.
