Brief Author Bio: I thought this could use a bit of a clean up... NaNo WriMo is the hardest thing I have done in my life. It drained me of energy, annoyed my friends, and most of all, showed me that I really can do anything I set my mind to. Profile: I love gemstones, so when I decided to do NaNo WriMo, I knew I'd need something I could really get into, write about freely, and not have to research much. So I started Diary Of A Dreamer, in 2009, I did the sequeal, Apache Tear, got stuck, changed the genre, questioned the change, and posted in the forums about. I gave up my writing group when I got my thoroughbreeds, Hydeyoshi and Carbon Prince, because I just didnt have the time to attend, then I really got into schoolwork, since the end of year was coming up... in fact, once I got the thoroughbreeds, I quit almost everything I was doing... Synopsis: Apache Tear
Kat Pilman and Alex Benson haven't seen each other in a whole year. They've gotten together with their group of friends to go gemstone hunting again.
Alex seems to be a dedicated boyfriend, even after a year, but Kat seems to think he's too dedicated, and starts questioning him. Why is be being so nice, and so clingy? What isn't he telling her?
Kat witnesses dramatic events all around her; Baven and her new girlfriend, Melani, are having problems, and Leo - Marcus' new boyfriend - is hiding a massive secret.
Could all the thoughts in the teenagers heads cause the group to split? How will they handle the pressure and high expectations of their professors? They're only highschool students, and highschool students shouldn't have to worry about these things.
Excerpt: Apache Tear
Alex and I walked back onto the veranda. Our only form of entertainment had been taken away from us. I finally asked Alex where his other sister and only brother were. He told me they were at his grandparents’ place. Doctor Benson really was prepared for this exhibition.
Baven and Melani were still talking quietly between themselves, and before I knew what was being said, Baven swallowed hard and said something to Melani that I wasn’t expecting; “it’s over”.
My eyes went as wide as Melani’s did. Melani went inside and over to Doctor Benson, and told her what had happened. Benson came out to Alex, Baven and me.
“Baven, Melani just told me that you dumped her. I didn’t know you two were dating… I didn’t even know that you felt like girls in that way.” Doctor Benson uttered. Doctor Sims came out and asked who liked girls in what way, and Benson told him everything.
Baven hung her head and went a little red in the cheeks. I moved closer to Baven and hugged her. Cassi, Eve, Hope, Marcus, Leo and Coli came outside. Cassi asked Baven what was wrong, and Baven explained that she had finally dumped Melani. Melani walked over to Baven and waited for the blonde girl to look up, before slapping her.
“No one hits my friends and gets away with it.” She said. Cassi had a glass of water in her hand, which she now dumped on Melani’s head.
“Is that the best you can do?” Melani asked. I hardly had time to blink before Cassi jumped on Melani, dragging her to the wooden floor of the veranda. The other teenagers jumped backwards. “Get off me, slut!”
“At least I don’t steal other people’s girlfriends!” Cassi answered. Melani scratched Cassi down the face, and called her a discriminator.
“You didn’t even want Baven to be with a girl. You’re a homophobe!” Melani accused. Baven called foe them to both stop, but Melani pushed Cassi onto her back, and not in the flirtatious way that Baven had done to Eve last year. Cassi hit Melani with a fist, and Melani fell to the side, holding her bleeding mouth. Melani looked up to Doctor Sims.
