Brief Author Bio:

I'm doing this again because I didn't like my first bio. I am a Christian, a wife, and a mother of six. When I was fifteen I wrote a story and showed it to my mom. She read my masterpiece and her face got sort of quiet, but there was what can only be described as a 'careful' expression on her face. That look destroyed my confidence. She obviously wasn't impressed, but she loved me and so she wouldn't say anything. The adolescent aura was so strong in me back then that even now, I'm convinced, but I'm willing to concede that perhaps a person isn't the best judge of their own writing abilities at fifteen. When I was forty, I finally allowed myself to finish something. My writing group leader makes us repeat after her that we are writers. But it's okay. I knew that I was a writer the moment I typed 'the end' figuratively at the end of my first story. Since then, I've completed 14 others. Good or bad, they're mine, and I'm proud of that. I'm so glad that being a writer isn't defined on whether or not you've ever had something published. A tree falls in the forest and still makes sound. My story makes me a writer whether or not many people read it. But... if any one here wants to read my entry for this NaNoWriMo...

Synopsis: Black Poodle Love

Soubrette Mourer is on the run. She needs a place to hide out from a despicable cousin, so when she is offered the job of nanny to a dog, she hops on a train in New York city and gets her own sleeping compartment. Seattle had always intrigued her, and she hopes for a new beginning---right after she drops off the puppy into the arms of it's new owner. But there's been a misunderstanding. The man that signs for the puppy is not the man that adopted it, but an attractive relation of the owner. After a small tiff, he stalks away, leaving the puppy in her arms. But that doesn't stop her, she chases him down the train platform. When she falls and twists her ankle he makes up his mind. He wants to be there for her when her past catches up to her. Now if he can just prevent her from indulging in too much dog-baby talk, things might really get started between them.

Excerpt: Black Poodle Love

“How about I perch you on top of one of those luggage racks and roll you to the bus stop?” he asked, and he grinned. His teeth were very white, and his smile was boyish. She decided to take offense at it.
“How's about we put Fufu on my head and sing a jingle to make certain that the entire train station sees us?”
“Fufu?”
Her cheeks heated.
“Her temporary name.”
“I see. Who thought that up?”
“It was a train journey name, thought up at the spur of the moment.”
“A train journey name? Do kissy noises and little dog num-nums go along with it?”
“Listen, Mr. Marsh. Let's take the focus off of me.”
“I can see why you would want to. Let's focus on little Fufu instead. We could make sure that she doesn't have to do a wee wee or a...”
”Mr. Marsh!”
