Synopsis: Fire Starter
“When Aiden Hawley wanted his final day at school to go out with a bang, he didn’t mean it quite so literally. Now he’s got to learn to control a power he didn’t even know he had, find four other people with similar powers, and stop the end of the world. And he’s got to do it in time to find a new school for September; he sort of got expelled for setting fire to the last one…”
700 years ago, when humans were just finding their feet in civilization, the Mortal Realm was joined with another; the Other Realm, allowing Mortal humans and Beings from the Other Realm to intermingle. They did so peacefully, until the Beings started to get a glimpse of their true power over Mortals. The only solution was to seal the barriers between the Realms, locking the Beings away, only to be summoned by gifted Mortals when and as needed.
That was 700 years ago, and over the years those facts have evolved into the basis of Celtic mythology and Arthurian legend, woven through time like golden thread. Now in 2009, 16 year-old Aidan Hawley finds himself thrust head-first into a world he knows nothing about, yet is apparently his birthright.
