Brief Author Bio:

Writing is something I began doing as a way to express my emotions, both positive and negative. In later years I turned my focus on structure and story lines with the help of an online community called deviantART. Instead of writing only about personal thoughts and feelings with poetry, I began writing elaborate stories that touch on issues independent of my own life experiences. Although, as I'm sure many writers can empathize, many of my stories still focus on personal experiences to some extent and because of that my writings are still a form of transcending for me.

Being a writer is not what I fantasized about as a child. In fact, my dream was--as most young girls--to be a famous actress. It wasn't until after I enlisted in the U.S. Army that I truly discovered my passion for writing.

My first attempt at a book was about vampires, a topic I've fantasized about since my childhood. After writing on this book for years, I finally decided to pursue publication. When I made this decision, I was near the end of my commitment to the military and in a relationship with a handsome Spanish man. This man came up with the title for my book, Theory of the Heart, and later became my husband.

Theory of the Heart was rejected by various agencies and eventually laid to rest. The book topped off at 30,000 words, not exactly what publishers are looking for when you're talking novels. So, the book was set aside and I moved on to a new project.

In November 2008 I participated in my first ever NaNoWriMo event. After a solid month of hair-pulling and being a complete recluse, I reached 50,000 words. The novel was not completed just yet, it took another 5,000 words to tie everything together. This will be the first book I publish.

After experiencing NaNoWriMo in 2008 I've become a devoted WriMo. Every November, I will be here and I will cheer you on! There's a novelist in all of us.

Synopsis: 12:34 Make a Wish

Sylvia Payton and her husband, Marc, travel from Jersey City to a small town in southern Louisiana with their two girls, Kate and Tracey, in an attempt to help Sylvia overcome her severe bouts of depression.
Unfortunately, the trip proves to be more stressful than expected and Sylvia makes an attempt on her life with sleeping pills. Instead of obtaining death, Sylvia is put into a deep coma.
To the outside world she's completely unresponsive, but in her mind she's living the life of a Queen. A group of manipulative fairies guide Sylvia away from consciousness--and the door back to her reality. They shower her with gifts and praise to make her forget the life she lived before. That is until the conversation of "pulling the plug" creeps into her dream-world.
Quickly the fantasy becomes a nightmare and Sylvia's desperate to escape before it's too late. All of this because she made a wish at precisely12:34am.
"I wish my life wasn't this way."
Now, returning to her husband and the girls will be a race against time; a race she cannot win.
