Synopsis: Ghost Opera
December 1878; London, England
While searching through one of the underground rooms of the Theatre Royal opera house, a devastated brother stumbles upon a series of beaten and battered journals. These journals once belonged to his younger sister, his best friend and confidant, his fiancee now wife, and a lowly street urchin who once worked in that very opera house. The events that occured five years prior that continues to haunt his memories come crashing back like the orchestra playing. The opera that not only ruined his life, but also to those closest to him. The orchestra plays as the opera commences, Demitri Paeth reads on as he watches the scenes of love, betrayal, and revenge are sung through his memories.
Excerpt: Ghost Opera
Welcome all to curtain call! For the members of the Ghost Opera await patiently inside these pallid doors on the stage for the willing and ready audience to sit and listen to the horrifying, yet intoxicating beauty of their story. Ahh, do you my dear audience hear the music playing? The engaging strings of the violin, the dark temptations of the cello, the soft melodies of nimble fingers across the keys of the piano? Ah what a striking, haunting sound. Much like the cast of tonight’s opera, each with their own distinct voice; each with their own part of the story to tell.
