Synopsis: The Portal, or the Adventures of Rachel, Jade, and Tyler against the Fiendish Forces of Evil

Rachel Dace, Jade Sheedy, and Tyler Simmons run the Portal, a small book shop in peaceful, rural Leesport, Pa. Running the store is not difficult. Keeping up with life is hard. Rachel is a self-destructing genius obsessed with boozing away an unexpected break-up. Jade is a rambunctious seventeen year old obsessed with the occult. Tyler is middle-aged ex-marine obsessed with living a relaxed lifestyle.
What happens when these three bibliophiles find themselves in the October from hell, including a Satanic Cult, exploding pumpkins, kids dressing as demons, and a virgin sacrifice.
It's just another day at work.

They returned to their conversation.
“Hey, Tyler, you have a kid, right?” Jade asked.
“I have four.” Tyler said. “Three daughters and a son.”
“Your son go to Baselton High?”
“Yes, He is sixteen.” Tyler answered.
“I’m seventeen.” Jade perked up, “It’s perfect.”
“I won’t let you date him.”
“Are you saying I would be a bad influence on him?” she whined.
“Yes!” Tyler answered.
“Well, of course I would,” Jade retorted, “that’s the point of going on a date.”
“I was wrong,” Jade perked up at this, then Tyler continued, “You would be the worst influence on him, bar none.”
Deflated a little, Jade asked, “What is that supposed to mean?”
“Let’s see if I can put this in terms you will understand.” Tyler said. “You are Darth Jade, Dark Lady of the Sith. He is Toby-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master.”
Rachel and Jade laughed.
