Brief Author Bio:

Former management consultant and banker (before the big bonuses) very recently moved back to the UK after 12 years in USA. Have been prevaricating far too long so instead am writing which has been on the back-burner for twenty years.
Previously I have written training & study material plus technical items and ISO manuals. Now for the sake of sanity am turning to fiction.
Have contributor credits on the collaborative 24hr Book published by Completely Novel 5/10/09 - The Vauxhall Chorus.
I have first draft of a collection inspirational shorts and one further novel in outline.

Synopsis: Sgraffito

Grace Channing has spent the last eight years battling the grief that haunts her and the guilt that, for a time, sent her life spiralling out of control on a path of self-destruction. She believes her isolated life as a sculptor on the remote island of Shind off the Scottish coast is finally helping to heal the scars of her tragic past, but when the accidental deaths of her parents impose the twin burdens of responsibility for the Darley Estate and the Channing Luxury Group on her shoulders, Grace is forced to leave her tiny island and return to Darley.

Shocked to learn the conditions of her father's will and to discover the mounting financial problems at the Channing Group, she struggles to get to grips with the complexities of the diverse and secretive family business and the questionable business deals her father was involved in . When human remains are discovered, charred beyond all recognition, in a firing kiln at the historic Darley -Saracen ,Pottery just days before important meetings with the company's bankers, and a key employee disappears on a routine business trip the China, Grace finds herself reeling from one crisis to the next. Pressured by financial backers and with problems mounting on all sides of the business, Grace must decide if she can hold Darley together and take on the fight for the Channing Group or whether she should let it all fail and run back to the safety of her island home.
Brittle and afraid, Grace must face her own personal demons or be destroyed by them. She must also turn for help to the one person she vowed she would never see again, Dara Findlay --the man she once loved and the man she believes brutally betrayed her. In this desperate game of corporate and emotional survival which takes her from rural England to the Australian outback and to the modern city of Shanghai, she must learn not only who she can trust, but how to trust.
