Excerpt: Somewhere I Belong

I didn't know how it happened, but a part me just snapped. I scraped my nails along the inside of my forearm and felt the sudden pain gradually seep in. As the wound grew deeper, my heavy emotions flooded to the surface of my skin without me ever having to say a word. It was then that I realized that something inside me changed. I had found a way to release my innner tensions without ever having to speak or make a sound.
