Brief Author Bio: On my website, I like to blog about random things. But it's mostly about writing at this time of year. I'm a fairly laid back type of person, but I start to get grumpy when I don't have a chance to write. Oh, yeah, and I'm writing this year's novel longhand. Crazy, I know, but with so much going on in Nov for me, including a 4 day trade show and 2x12 hours in a car, it's just going to be easier to keep a notebook on me. |

Synopsis: The Ring of Mortality
Recently widowed Helen finds out that she's going to be a single mother and that her husband was a demon. With the help of her brother-in-law and his servant, she's on the run from the Archangels who want her dead before she can give birth to the heir of Lucifer's Throne. In this tale of Good vs. Evil, lines are blurred and before long, you're left questioning: who exactly is evil?

"-So where is the passion when you need it the most/Oh you and I—hey….“
Ray switched the radio off. “Enough. You can humm entire classical master pieces in time and in tune, but you Irwin, are completely tone deaf when it comes to modern work.”
----
"Come lay down," Ray said, moving close to the arm of the couch. Irwin laid down, resting his head against Ray’s as his feet hung over the edge of the other arm of the couch. Ray pulled a small switch blade out of his breast pocket and carefully slit his right wrist. Irwin grabbed at it feverishly, pulling it to his mouth to suckle like a babe to its mother's tit. Ray let him do this for a few minutes before cutting him off. "That's enough, close it." Irwin looked up at him with sad eyes, his pupils a blood red. Irwin slowed his sucking motions and began to lick at the open wound. As he watched, it closed, leaving only the faintest of scars.
